Where business comes together and new ideas take root
The north of Munich between the Olympic Area and Parkstadt Schwabing has been a dynamic business location for decades. Shaped by the automotive industry, including BMW and Knorr, the urban location boasting an ideal transport infrastructure in every respect also attracts many other sectors of industry with a pronounced technical focus. The urban development initiative launched by Munich's municipal authorities aims to promote the Frankfurter Ring as a business location characterised by a broad mix of income groups and an enhanced living and working environment. The initiative provides for the further optimisation of local public transport services, more greenery and additional bikeways. In the longer term, it is planned to extend tram line no. 23 (which currently terminates at Schwabingen Nord) up to Neu-Freimann, and to incorporate an urban railway stop at Euro-Industriepark as part of the Nordring railway line. All these developments form part of a vision of industrial, handicraft and office premises clustered in a new setting offering an ever-growing quality of life.
